Last week's updates.
My camera dropped while I was at the zoo and it's hard to take pictures with it. I hate when that happens. So here is the past week.....
Cute little Zoee was over at my home last Wednesday waiting to go to dance. She was outside playing with the little boy's over the fence. I told her that she needed to come in and get dressed for dance and she said to me....
"But grandma, what if they think I look ugly."
Of course I told her they wouldn't do that, so she got dressed and went back out back to talk to the boy's when all of a sudden she came running in the house and yells up to me...
"Grandma, they said I looked beautiful"
Last Wednesday I took the girls up to Hoogle Zoo. Of course Monday and Tuesday the sun was out and it looked so nice. Wednesday was cloudy, but that didn't stop us from going. We had a good time. I tried to get Evva in this picture below but she was afraid of this elephant because it makes such a loud noise. So she just hid behind me while I took a picture of Zoee. Silly girl.

Bro. Curtis Jacobs
Our Stake is having a Fireside on May 18 that I thought I should let everyone know about so that you can all plan on coming.
You can even bring your Young Women or YM. or your stake!
The speaker is Bro. Curtis Jacobs
He has many talk CD's out that are AMAZING. And has written many books. (It's easier to listen than to read for me)
I would really like to fill up the gym.
He is driving down from Logan and I would feel so bad not to have a good turnout for him.
I promise, you would not be disappointed.
Okay...so if you would like to come and bring a group...LMK
We would love for you to come.

I'm a Slacker!
For months now I have been giving Desi a hard time because she didn't update her blog. I may have even put a few comments on others blogs "okay now, it's time to update"
Now it's her turn to give me a hard time.
So in defence.....
When I had the girls, I always had something to blog about because they kept life interesting. Cutting hair, cute little remakes.
Now I don't have the girls everyday and I am pretty BORING.
So, for all of you whom would like to know what I would have blogged about....go to the Jones family blog.
I will try and do better.
I could always tell you about what I see and hear at Cyprus each day but MMmmmm that may have to be edited.

1st Day at School
Not to bad. It was actually pretty fun. The lady that I am working with is very nice. They all call her the bulldog. No~not true. She just acts tough cause she loves those kids!
The best part of the job (not the money) it's when I walk into a class and the kids in our stake are excited to see me. It makes my day. It's kind of like when my little Evva or Zoee comes over and puts their arms around my neck or when little Kaylee runs up to me from across the church to give me a hug!
Day 2 is now here. I get to go to an assembly. I use to sluff those. MMmmm this just might be my 1st assembly.
I do have to say that I miss my girls. Hanging out at McDs or going to the library. I look forward to my Wednesdays with them!

Back to work again
I was trying to find a good picture of Cyprus High on the internet when I came acrossed this one taken by Cyprus. Okay, this will work. I love it.
So tomorrow I go back to work at~yup~Cyprus. For those of you who knew me when I was in school, you know that I was the queen of sluffing. Yes, me. I know, hard to believe but it's true. Well now here is my pay back for all the frustration I caused all of those good people who tried to get me to go to school. I am going to be a tracker. Mmmmm what's that? I get to check up on all those kids that followed in my foot steps and think it is more important to go out for coffee than to go to class. I never missed my 2nd period class @ Elliott's Cafe.
Yes, I am a little nervous. It's been 4 years since I have worked. I am sure this will be much better though. I will have weekends off, holidays off, summers off and 2 weeks off for Christmas. Who could ask for any better than that. The best is that they are willing to work with watching the girls on Wednesdays. So I have Wednesdays off too.
I can now say that I have the best of all worlds.

Night of Honor
For all of you that are in the young women program listen to this amazing combined activity that one of our wards did last night. It was amazing!
Each youth was asked to choose one person in the community that has made a difference in there lives. Then last night they had a dinner to honor these people. They honored 12 people last night. 9 of the 12 were teachers. One of the teachers were honored by 4 youth. For you from the Magna area, it was Mrs. McDonough from Brockbank Jr. high. Can you even imagine how she must have felt. I don't know about you but I don't feel that the teachers get enough money for what they do.
This is how it went. It was a formal dinner where they young men dressed in white shirts and black pants and seated each one of us. Then the youth served us dinner.
They had a Master of ceremony who did amazing.
During dinner one of the young men played the piano. Then music was provided by the Brockbank Jr High Jazz Band, from Mrs. McDonough. They were amazing.
The young men put together a slide show of these people being honored and the youth at school and work place with music.
The youth then were called up with the person they nominated to tell that person why they had been asked to come to this dinner (because they had made a difference in there life) and gave them a certificate and gift.
One of the youth had written a poem that was given to everyone:
You've passed ordinary and reached extraordinary.
These are the people that they honored for those of you who may know them.
Mr. Randall-Magna Elementary
Mrs. England-Brockbank Jr. High
Mrs. McDonough-Brockbank Jr. High
Mrs. Itow-Brockbank Jr. High
Bro. Burbidge-Matheson Jr. High Seminary Teacher! Stake YM Pres.
Bro. Meyers-Cyprus High Seminary Teacher

News flash #2
So my cute niece wrote in her blog last week that she had heard there was going to be an earth quake here. She had me laughing so hard cause she was so paranoid she had even called the seismologist. Well this morning my house started to shake and let me tell you the first thing I thought about was Beckys cute blog and I started to be a little (a lot) Paranoid.
6.0 Earth Quake hit this morning out side of Wendover and another one hit near Milford. That one was 4.0.
Okay Becky, Im not laughing now. I am with you! I am on my way to the store to make sure I have things that we need and I wanted to tell all of you how important it is to be prepared.
One of her friends told her the following things that I thought I might pass on now that I am paraniod with you.
1. Always have gas in your car
2. Have a way to cook your food
3. Kids need entertainment (Who would have even thougth about that)
4. Heat (you know like those cute little hand warmers that we use up at Heber Valley in Oct).
Good advise.
And last but not least.as Becky also said...I love you all!
Thanks Becky for the warning. Next time I am going to listen to you!!

This is your official warning. Those Termite signs are going to be appearing.
I heard on Sunday that the Jordan's are also moving.
Of course you know that Derrik and Meagan are moving, but I am sure you will see them. They had better come and visit me.

Miracles and blessings
First of all I wanted to let anyone know that is interested in the sheet music of the song Pres. Hinckley wrote and was sung at his funarel, It will be availible for free down load starting the evening of Feb. 20
http://www.janicekappperry.com/
It has been a while since I have taken the time to blog. I think it's the winter--in-door blaas. Does anyoene else get that? I am so ready for the nice spring day's.
Anyway....
The past few day's I have been reading some family history that my sister gave to us for Christmas. I love the 'one' page quick read stories that she put together. My cute husband came home from work yesterday and found me at the table reading and crying....not cause I was sad, but because I have an incredible -- incredably blessed family. It starts out with my sister, whom I knew had polio as a youth but had no idea how blessed we are to have her here this day. I hope you don't mind Janet but I wanted to share.
She was one of 11 children that had gone in to the hospital with polio (she had 2 types of polio) and only 2 lived. Her and one other girl that was crippled. Janet had been parolized on her left side. She also had pneumonia on top of that. You would never guess it today.
Pres. David O Makay came to the hospital and gave her a blessing. Do I believe in the priesthood blessings. Uhhh yea! That's a no brainer.
Just in my family alone I have seen the many miracles of the priesthood. This is just one of the many and I want everyone to know how blessed I am to have her as my sister. (along with all of my brothers and sisters of course). I just wanted to focus on her for a minute and tell her how grateful I am that she is my sister. She is an amazing sister. What a great example she has been to me.
Now for a challenge. How many of you have writen --even a one pager--life history?
I have loved reading about my family. Thank you Janet for taking the time to put it together. I hope everyone has a Janet in there family.

Up-date on Derrik
Okay, for those whom may not have recieved a phone call today (or maybe you were gone cause I think he called everyone) Derrik got a job. Well he actually got 2 jobs on the same day but got one that he wanted. He had applied at CR England in the part department and also at Dannon yogurt and got both of them. The problem with Dannon was that it was 12 hour shifts from 6 PM till 6 AM (YUK)!!!! Needless to say, he took CR England 8-4. That is much better hours.
He is very excited.

My Prophet, My Hero

I have just a few moments this morning before my two princesses come and thought I would like to take a moment and share some of my thoughts about Pres. Hinckley. I will have to say that I have teared up numerous times over the past few days (surprise)when I think about him. Not because I am sad for him, but how grateful I am for him. He has truly been my prophet. It was in 1995 that I came back into the church.
Some of the comments I have heard that have really stuck out in my head are:
(and please know that I don't have it exactly word for word but by memory. MMMmmmm that could be scary)
Larry King said: "In interviewing religious people, some have questioned his or her religion. I (Larry) can tell you that Pres. Hinckley to my knowledge never questioned his".
Bishop from the Lutheran Church said. "As I heard the news about Pres. Hinckley I saw a light bulb go out over the valley because of the love and 'respect' that people of all religions have for this man."
Sister Hinckleys family being interviewed. Interviewer: "What do you think Pres. Hinckley is saying right now"?
Sister Hincklyes family: "What's all the fuse? there is work to be done"
My testimony grows even stronger with his passing. I know that Pres. Hinckley does know that the church was true. Look at what he has done. Even people from other religions felt the lose that we felt but we know that he is in a much better place and with his sweet wife that he so missed. And yes, there is so much work to be done. The church will go on because it is real. We all need to get to work. (I just wish I had Pres. Hinckleys energy) If he can do it at 97--so can we at our young age.
We will be privileged to have a new prophet soon. I look forward to his teachings and what he will bring to our lives. I will honor and sustain him!

Pres. Gordon B. Hinckley My Hero

What a sad night for all of us who love our Prophet, Pres. Hinckley because of his passing tonight at 7PM. We will miss him so much. What an amazing man he is. I believe he has done so much for us in his life. Just look at all the Temples we have this day because of him.
What a happy time this is for Pres. Hinckley and his wife whom passed away almost 2 years ago. Can you just imagine how happy they are to be together again. How grateful I am for the gospel in my life and for the knowledge that I have of eternal life and eternal marriage. He will be missed!
