Getting ready for Girls camp

It's that time of year again when we all are busy getting ready for girls camp. I will have to say I am very excited. Something must be wrong with me.

This is our camp clinic. The decorations were so cute.
We have some of the best YCL's (youth camp leaders) ever!

We did have a ward or two that did not show up so Kris was so good to jump in and teach. Thanks Kris :)

After clinic we got pizza and had lunch with all the girls that came.

The missionaries dropped by. Oh and yea....we just got a new missionary.
I think the girls had more fun watching them than anything else we were doing.
These girls were pretty excited to have their picture taken with them.

All in all I think it was very successful. Thanks Desi! You did a great job.

I got to go to Zoee's Kindergarten program last week. She did such a good job that I thought I would share.

Our New Temple

What a great opportunity we have had not only to be with the youth for the Temple Celebration but also to serve in the capacity that we have been able to serve at this Temple. It really is a beautiful Temple. It is small....they said it is 1/3 of the size of the Jordan Temple but it is 100% beautiful!

Monday Tim, Desi, Jed and I went and served the morning shift. Jed was able to go back for another shift in the afternoon so we went and got the Jones kids and went through on a tour too.
Last Saturday night the Angel Moroni got struck by lightning. You can see in this picture how his arm, face and trumpet is black.

The funnest part of coming back and going through was seeing all of our friends from our stake as they were serving. Ann and Tara McDonald's job was to take pictures of people after the tour so we had them take a picture of us too.
I loved watching the girls look and ask questions about the Temple. They were so cute! They wanted to know everything....or some things

It was a great way to end a wonderful weekend with Jed. I really don't get to spend a lot of time with him so this past weekend was very nice :D

Thursday was a busy day for us. I had a training up at the school district that was very good. I did realize why I didn't go back to school though.....I can not sit for that long!!! It started at 8 am and ended at 3. We did get lunch and a break but still, how do the kids do it????

After my training I got to go and watch Evva perform. She is such a cutie! I had so much fun watching her so I thought I would share. She did so good. I am very proud of her and....

Zoee! After the dance we ran up to Zoee's school to watch her receive the "Soaring Eagle" Award. She is not only beautiful but smart too. Now I didn't say a nerd (just to clarify to Zoee)
This award is given to students that pass at least 15 of the 20 of the required goals set for the students. ( I think that is right, Desi)? Anywho.....she is one smart cookie :)
After we left there, Jed and I went and spent some alone time for our anniversary.

Yup....11 years and still in love! I can't believe how fast time goes. I feel like it was yesterday and yet seems like an eternity that we have been together. I hope it will continue for eternity because I could not ask for anyone else I would rather be with forever. Each anniversary we find ourselves at the Temple which we did again this year. It has been a very nice weekend.

Monday we will have the opportunity to serve at the Oquirrh Mountain Temple. Jed took another day off and Tim and Desi are going to be with us. I am so looking forward to being at the Temple with all of our family one day. Then I will know that I am in Heaven......

Graduation

I can hardly believe it. Graduation! Didn't we just begin the new year?
Every year it I am amazed at our young women.

They are incredible.

I love them all so much.

And now they move forward into young adults. "Those lucky leaders"

And what is Cyprus High without Hank.

What a great night. I will have to say that the graduates were more respectful than the audience this year. They were quiet. No Beach Balls :(
No Blow up dolls...that was the class of 99

How fun to have watched these youth grow.

Some of these graduates were kids that I was able to track. There were times that I wondered if they were ever going to make it.

Look at them now.

Mr. Welburn is a great Principle.

Sorry about the blurry shots.

Miss Brit :)

Congratulations to all of Class 2009!
We will miss you.

The past little while our little family has had there share of trials. I keep waiting for things to get better and then something else happens. I am sure I am not the only one that has had trials in the past month so I decided that I would focus on some of my blessings.

Desi had a birthday last week. I would have to say she is one of my greatest blessings, of course my boys are also part of my greatest blessing too. I always wanted a little girl so Desiree (meaning Desired one) really fit when I named her.
She is so organized.
Takes such good care of her family and ours :)
Would do anything for anyone....and she does.
I think she get more beautiful each year which is pretty hard to do when you are the most beautiful baby to begin with.
She always keeps things in perspective.
She is doing a great job as camp director.
So what do I love most about her? Everything!
I am so grateful that she is my baby girl.

I don't think I ever gave her permission to grow up. Anyway, Happy Birthday Desi.

It wouldn't be a family gathering if Derrik didn't get tackled. This time by Jed. I don't know but I am thinking that maybe Derrik may be calling it on?????

We love you Derrik. Even when he is going through trials, he always seems to have a smile on his face and a good out look. Okay, maybe after the tears dry up. I hate to see him cry. That's just not my Derrik. It's nice to know that we are family and nobody can take that away from us.
