Memorial Day

Zoee has been asking me for a while now about my mom. She wanted to know everything about her. Her favorite color. Where she lives. I told her "of course" that she lives with Heavenly Father but her body was in the Provo Cemetery. She has asked for weeks now if I would take her to see her grave. What a perfect way for her to understand a little about what memorial day is. We started at the Provo Cemetery where both parents are along with my Grandma Myrle and my sister Karen.
It has been a while since I have been down there so it was good for me too.

Zoee had asked me questions all the way down and she wrote everything down on a piece of paper. Then she put her not along side the flowers so people could read a little bit about who they were. She is so cute!

Then we went up to where Jed's dad was buried. He was a Vet and buried at the Veterans cemetery. It was way cool to see all the flags out on each of the grave sites. Zoee wrote down all about Grandpa Richardson too.

On our way home we drove by our new Temple. Oquirrh Mountain Temple.

Jed had set up the tents to dry out and the kids thought that was the coolest thing ever. They loved playing in them.

We had a BBQ. Tim cooked the best chicken ever .... and I am sick of chicken so you know it was good if I ate it.
We also worked in the yard, but that is for my next blog.
It was a nice day off! I am not sure if I am ready to go back to work but seeing that I only have to work two days this week, I might be able to handle it. This will be a very busy week with the Temple Celebration and Friday Evva goes back up to Primary Children's to have them look at her heart.

Girls Camp 2009

Last night we went up to look at the camp we are going to be staying at this summer for our Stake YW camp. Camp Zarahemla

So here is your camping spot....
Here is your bathrooms........

Here is what I am soooo looking forward to, the water slide hill.

This is the amphitheater

The stream and yes it has fish.

I don't know if you can see in this picture the rope that is hanging from the tree but when the water is up a little higher, you can swing from the rope and jump in the river. I love the water :)

This is inside the lodge. This is where the Stake group will be sleeping.

The Kitchen

Had to take a picture of the stove for Gerold. He will be cooking the big dinner.

Okay, so I was just kidding about the girls sleeping in the tents, that will only be for the 10th ward leaders. For some funny reason they don't want to sleep in with the girls. ??
These are the bunks for the girls. Yep, stackin them 3 high.

Showers......Those are for me. I can not camp and not take a shower every day.
You should all be grateful for that.

The spouts with the orange is our drinking water. The purple spouts are not for drinking. The sweet missionary was asked if she knew we were from Magna. We like our water.

This is looking down on the lodge.

They are getting a flag pool this next week to put up on top of this hill. We will definitely need to have a morning side up on top of the mountain.

After looking around at the camp we found a cute little Mexican restaurant.

We walked in at 8:30 and they were to close at 9. I am sure we had more customers in our group than they had all night. Not sure if they were glad or sad.
We did have fun!
Thanks to all those that came up with us.
Now all the fun starts for Desi. Thanks Desi :)

Good Read

I have been so bad at blogging lately. I was going to give you all my excuses but "I hate excuses". So.....I thought I would take a minute and tell you about a book that I am reading instead.

In this book Maria talks about things that I am sure a lot of mothers don't or wouldn't talk about. How we all want to be the "best" lds women. The check lists - reading scriptures daily, prayer, clean houses, 100% visiting teaching, I think you get the idea. I feel that she hit on exactly what needs to be said. I have loved reading it. Would I recommend this book?

Absolutely yes!

Not only is this a good book, by an amazing author but she will be our guest speaker up at our retreat this fall. She is also good friends with Brad Wilcox who recommends her too.

Sleepless Party

Jed went camping last night with the Young Men.
Tim and Desi had plans and Derrik decided he wanted to hang out with the YM so
Meagan and I had a sleepless overnighter.
Zoee wanted to play "who done it with what game". So we pulled out the Clue and played
Much better than Guess who woooo... That's another story :)

We had lot's of snacks and then we watched movies. 'gotta love the hair'

We really had lot's of fun.
I had pictures of all the kids in the bath tub too but decided that Zoee and Evva are getting to old for those kind of pictures to be posted. :)
Then next day the boys came home real early because of all the rain. I would have to say we had much more fun than they did.
