Night of Honor

For all of you that are in the young women program listen to this amazing combined activity that one of our wards did last night. It was amazing!
Each youth was asked to choose one person in the community that has made a difference in there lives. Then last night they had a dinner to honor these people. They honored 12 people last night. 9 of the 12 were teachers. One of the teachers were honored by 4 youth. For you from the Magna area, it was Mrs. McDonough from Brockbank Jr. high. Can you even imagine how she must have felt. I don't know about you but I don't feel that the teachers get enough money for what they do.

This is how it went. It was a formal dinner where they young men dressed in white shirts and black pants and seated each one of us. Then the youth served us dinner.
They had a Master of ceremony who did amazing.
During dinner one of the young men played the piano. Then music was provided by the Brockbank Jr High Jazz Band, from Mrs. McDonough. They were amazing.
The young men put together a slide show of these people being honored and the youth at school and work place with music.
The youth then were called up with the person they nominated to tell that person why they had been asked to come to this dinner (because they had made a difference in there life) and gave them a certificate and gift.
One of the youth had written a poem that was given to everyone:
You've passed ordinary and reached extraordinary.

These are the people that they honored for those of you who may know them.

All my Grandkids

Last night I got to have Tim and Heathers boy's over night. 'Now that I have had a nap'....it wasn't so bad. I do know why they tell you to have your kids when your young. MMmmmm I like my sleep way to much. My kids, to this day, know that when I am a sleep--you don't want to wake me up for anything (except for Jed of course) . Little Ron didn't know where he was and would only sleep if I held him. He finally fell asleep around 5 AM this morning. Good thing he is so darn cute!

It gave me a chance to take a picture of all my grand kids together--until next month. Then I will have another cut little boy. Looks like the boys are going to out number the girls.

News flash #2

So my cute niece wrote in her blog last week that she had heard there was going to be an earth quake here. She had me laughing so hard cause she was so paranoid she had even called the seismologist. Well this morning my house started to shake and let me tell you the first thing I thought about was Beckys cute blog and I started to be a little (a lot) Paranoid.
6.0 Earth Quake hit this morning out side of Wendover and another one hit near Milford. That one was 4.0.
Okay Becky, Im not laughing now. I am with you! I am on my way to the store to make sure I have things that we need and I wanted to tell all of you how important it is to be prepared.
One of her friends told her the following things that I thought I might pass on now that I am paraniod with you.
1. Always have gas in your car
2. Have a way to cook your food
3. Kids need entertainment (Who would have even thougth about that)
4. Heat (you know like those cute little hand warmers that we use up at Heber Valley in Oct).
Good advise.
And last but not least.as Becky also said...I love you all!
Thanks Becky for the warning. Next time I am going to listen to you!!

News Flash.....

I forgot one thing.....
For any of you in this ward
THERE WILL BE 'NO' MORE SELLING OF THE HOMES!
Stamps....I don't think you know what you started but everyone is moving.
This is your official warning. Those Termite signs are going to be appearing.

I heard on Sunday that the Jordan's are also moving.
Of course you know that Derrik and Meagan are moving, but I am sure you will see them. They had better come and visit me.

Miracles and blessings

First of all I wanted to let anyone know that is interested in the sheet music of the song Pres. Hinckley wrote and was sung at his funarel, It will be availible for free down load starting the evening of Feb. 20
http://www.janicekappperry.com/

It has been a while since I have taken the time to blog. I think it's the winter--in-door blaas. Does anyoene else get that? I am so ready for the nice spring day's.

Anyway....
The past few day's I have been reading some family history that my sister gave to us for Christmas. I love the 'one' page quick read stories that she put together. My cute husband came home from work yesterday and found me at the table reading and crying....not cause I was sad, but because I have an incredible -- incredably blessed family. It starts out with my sister, whom I knew had polio as a youth but had no idea how blessed we are to have her here this day. I hope you don't mind Janet but I wanted to share.

She was one of 11 children that had gone in to the hospital with polio (she had 2 types of polio) and only 2 lived. Her and one other girl that was crippled. Janet had been parolized on her left side. She also had pneumonia on top of that. You would never guess it today.
Pres. David O Makay came to the hospital and gave her a blessing. Do I believe in the priesthood blessings. Uhhh yea! That's a no brainer.

Just in my family alone I have seen the many miracles of the priesthood. This is just one of the many and I want everyone to know how blessed I am to have her as my sister. (along with all of my brothers and sisters of course). I just wanted to focus on her for a minute and tell her how grateful I am that she is my sister. She is an amazing sister. What a great example she has been to me.

Now for a challenge. How many of you have writen --even a one pager--life history?
I have loved reading about my family. Thank you Janet for taking the time to put it together. I hope everyone has a Janet in there family.

Our princess Evva may look sweet and innocent but she is a handful. She decided to have some fun with Grandma's modem and in turn it ended up shorting out the computer. Mom and Jed are buying a new computer but until then Mom will not be able to update the blog. Sorry :D Desi

Up-date on Derrik

Okay, for those whom may not have recieved a phone call today (or maybe you were gone cause I think he called everyone) Derrik got a job. Well he actually got 2 jobs on the same day but got one that he wanted. He had applied at CR England in the part department and also at Dannon yogurt and got both of them. The problem with Dannon was that it was 12 hour shifts from 6 PM till 6 AM (YUK)!!!! Needless to say, he took CR England 8-4. That is much better hours.
He is very excited.
