My Prophet, My Hero

I have just a few moments this morning before my two princesses come and thought I would like to take a moment and share some of my thoughts about Pres. Hinckley. I will have to say that I have teared up numerous times over the past few days (surprise)when I think about him. Not because I am sad for him, but how grateful I am for him. He has truly been my prophet. It was in 1995 that I came back into the church.

Some of the comments I have heard that have really stuck out in my head are:
(and please know that I don't have it exactly word for word but by memory. MMMmmmm that could be scary)

Larry King said: "In interviewing religious people, some have questioned his or her religion. I (Larry) can tell you that Pres. Hinckley to my knowledge never questioned his".

Bishop from the Lutheran Church said. "As I heard the news about Pres. Hinckley I saw a light bulb go out over the valley because of the love and 'respect' that people of all religions have for this man."

Sister Hinckleys family being interviewed. Interviewer: "What do you think Pres. Hinckley is saying right now"?
Sister Hincklyes family: "What's all the fuse? there is work to be done"

My testimony grows even stronger with his passing. I know that Pres. Hinckley does know that the church was true. Look at what he has done. Even people from other religions felt the lose that we felt but we know that he is in a much better place and with his sweet wife that he so missed. And yes, there is so much work to be done. The church will go on because it is real. We all need to get to work. (I just wish I had Pres. Hinckleys energy) If he can do it at 97--so can we at our young age.

We will be privileged to have a new prophet soon. I look forward to his teachings and what he will bring to our lives. I will honor and sustain him!

Pres. Gordon B. Hinckley My Hero

What a sad night for all of us who love our Prophet, Pres. Hinckley because of his passing tonight at 7PM. We will miss him so much. What an amazing man he is. I believe he has done so much for us in his life. Just look at all the Temples we have this day because of him.

What a happy time this is for Pres. Hinckley and his wife whom passed away almost 2 years ago. Can you just imagine how happy they are to be together again. How grateful I am for the gospel in my life and for the knowledge that I have of eternal life and eternal marriage. He will be missed!

Mom's Birthday Dinner

What a good day this was. I always love to get together with my family. Each year we go out to dinner for my moms birthday. This year I think mom was with us.

When we got there they had the tables set up wrong. They didn't know that we needed one long table. We don't like to separate. So when the waiters left, we did a little re-arranging. I'm sure they loved us.

It is nice to have Chris and Jennifer join us. They are so much a part of our family and love them dearly.

We went around the table and each family gave an update on their family. It's fun to have blogs to keep up on all the kids.

We then left the restaurant to begin the hour long "Peterson good-bye" Those of you who know us.....know what I am talking about.

When we left I had to take a trip past the home that I grew up at. I really go home-sick.

I will tell you -I have 'the best' family ever!
Mom....Happy Birthday!

Leatherby's

People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime. When you know which one it is, you will know what to do for that person. When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed.

They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually.

They may seem like a godsend and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an
inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Sometimes they die. Sometimes they move away.

Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand. What we must realize is that our need has been meet, our desire fulfilled, their work is done.

The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.

Some people come into your life for a SEASON, because your turn has come to share, grow or learn. They bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh. They may teach you something you have never done. They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it, it is real. But only for a season.

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons, things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation. Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life. It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant. Author unknown.

Thank you for being a part of my life, whether you were a reason, a season or a lifetime. You will be missed.

A visit from Heather and the boy's

It was fun to see the boy's again. Heather has been real good at keeping in touch and letting us see the boy's. As you can see they are growing up. Heather is living in West Valley for now so they are close.

Tysen had fun playing with Ronaldo. Ron is walking now. They got along great.

Tuesday McDonalds Play Group

What would I ever do without a little break in the day with some good company and other kids for Zoee and Evva to play with.

Last Tuesday when I walked into McDonald's there were a couple of ladies who were laughing as I walked in. MMMmmmm could it be that the last time they were there Evva did her little strip show? Yes, it was. I mean she took it all off. This week she only took off her shirt.

I had to take my camera because this was the last time we would be with the Stamps at McDonald's. We are so sad!! Zoee couldn't understand why they were going to move, me either. I am really going to miss Sharon.

The kids really do have fun playing together. We look forward to going each week.

Catch up....

This past week has been a little busy. Our stake had our Recognition dinner and if you can believe it.....I forgot my camera. That made me very sad because, It was so nice. Decorations, help, food, fireside everything was great!

We had wonderful ladies from the Relief society come and help with nursery. 'That was not an easy job'. They were in there for 3 hours with around 16 wild kids. "May they be showered with many blessings"!

Jenny Phillips was amazing. She is so down to earth and leaves us each time with such a strong spirit. I could listen to her for hours on end. Oh wait--I do. MMmmmm for any of you that don't have her CD's. They are incredible. You may need to get one.

Speaking of incredible, what great counselors I have. As I ran around crazy like a chicken with my head cut off, they made sure everything looked right and ready for our youth, along with our wonderful Stake President. I have no words great enough to even express what a great man he is.

I can't leave out our chef. I have a wonderful, talented son in law who cooked a great dinner for our stake. So not only does he do heating and air conditioning, messages but he also cooks. Who could ask for more.

Last night Jed, Derrik, Tysen and I went down to Donna Sandstroms viewing. For those here in our stake, she is the mother of 'Sister Modesty'. The viewing was from 6 to 8 so I talked with Colleen and we decided to meet around 8. When we got there the lines were long...like 2 hours long. They said as soon as the family arrived at the funeral home at 5, the line had started to form. Needless to say it was 10 pm when we made it through the line. What a great tribute to this wonderful lady. I was so glad that I went. Bob is such a good man. Just the expression on his face when he saw me made it all worth the 2 hour wait in line. He will always be dear to my heart.

The funnest part was I ran in to two old friends that I had not seen for...MMMmmmm let's see, (I'm telling on my age here) 30 years and 16 years. Crazy! How much fun though. I went to school with Shelly and worked at Albertsons with Kate down in Orem. Where the line was so long, we were able to catch up a little on the many years gone by. I was also told that we are having our 30 year class reunion. Okay, I can't be that old! WOW!! Where does time go? Speaking of time.....I think it's time to go shopping.

Zoees new trick

Zoee has really wanted to learn how to blow bubbles so she asked her mom to teach her.

Well as you can see, she has now learned how to blow bubbles and she usually has gum in her mouth. She thinks it's pretty neat....so she showed me

And now Grandma is blowing bubbles with her. I am sure you were all wondering what I did with all my time. Okay, now you know.

Tired little Evva

You know how Evva loves the hair.
'She cut hers twice ... in the same week'.

When ever she gets tired she likes to play with your hair.
The other night after family night she was sitting on pompas lap and started playing with his hair. I thought it was so cute that I had to get a picture of it and share with all of you.....
See,
I told you she is going to be a hair dresser!

New Fridge for New Years

New years day our fridge went out on us. So we ran to Lowe's half hour before they closed and got a new fridge. The funny thing is....Jed got a bonus and he really wanted to get a snow blower. Well, it went for a new fridge. We sat listening to the ice drop from the ice maker and Jed said.."There's my snow blower, making ice"

Maybe next year.
It sure is nice. Zoee likes it.
